Bluesoulxo gave me a great idea! Her idea was that, because CP brought back the crown, Disney were maybe trying to get rid of fame in Club Penguin?
Remember from March’s catalog? They brought back a few rare items in there too!
But it’s not just in catalog’s where Disney might be stopping fame. Remember the Apri Fools day party? They certainly shoved something up rare penguins face:
So, are CP trying to ruin fame? Well, most famous penguins are getting fame through blogs. Are Disney doing this:
Famous penguins also tend to make YouTube channels, which allows them to create [Penguin Name] TV etc. Are Disney also doing this:
So here is the big question!
Are Disney, trying to get rid of FAME on Club Penguin?

Somehow, I don’t want any of the rare items that are coming back.
It feels unfair to older penguins because they ALREADY have that item.
and dont forget the christmas scarf that they brought back in December.
I noticed in the last 2 years, Club Penguin was having new items, and i thought this year would be different.
but they brought back repeats, and made some of the parties the same.
And when i noticed your youtube channel was suspended, i felt sooo sad… because i always loved watching your vids Ag.
and the one thing i am getting annoyed about is the backgrounds, they used to have 4 news ones, but now its 2 new ones, and 2 repeats…
i loved those rumours about rockhopper key, and the yellow puffle..
but then they actually have a key and the yellow puffle now… the only rumours left is the iceberg and the ninjas.
The only party i wish they bring back is the Fall Fair, it was the bestest time in my life on CP
but actually, Disney can’t ruin fame, they will NEVER ruin fame.
They have to bring back all the rare items INCLUDING the beta tester hat, if they wish to ruin fame.

We should send an email to club penguin, saying disney is making all of us unhappy.

I adore these old penguins, with their old items, but I don’t want to look like THEM. I want to be famous on my own, not because of me wearing old items.
1. NO. I dont think Disney is trying to ruin CP. They wont be paying CP a whopping US$700 million just to put them down. Disney got the money to easily hire people to build a website&game like CP and it would have cost them only half the price or even less. I think the reason why they are bringing back old items is because CP staff were busy with the merger with Disney and therefore had less time and energy on items. It was easier to just change color than to conceptualize.
plus with the addition of the The Stage, im sure they also run out of original ideas.
2. Go with aguair.net. Its not the best (.com is) but its the close second. Forget .org. Even .info would is better than .org
3. I hate the repeat items too. how about we all write CP that we arent happy with the repeat items?

The catelog they brang was awesome, I went to ZSL london zoo today, just got back. I went for the club penguin thing. They are trying to get rid of fame, The beta hat will only stay, Thats the only thing.

cp partnered up with disney in august that was 9 months ago! i don’t think there busy with the merge since that was almost a year ago!
1. What do you have againnst disney? I don’t think they’re trying to get rid of fame. The people that were banned/suspended from those sites had a good reason to be. I’m not bothered typing in reasons today though.

well ag, .net means network like a tv channel website and .org means orginization like bbc. So .com (Company or Business) Seems more suitable

Let’s take a look at the items that have been brought back since August, 2007: Fedora, Blue and red sunglasses, Ghost Sheet, all the other halloween stuff (lol), The crown, Christmas Scarf, Sailor Hat, Red propellor hat, Overalls, Straw Hat, Brown slip on shoes, the orange, red and blue hockey helmets/football helmets, snowboard helmet, western bandana, lasoo, safari hat, and more!
Don’t forget the furniture as well: the green furniture, the gym mats and exercise bikes and stuff, the rare plants, etc etc etc. I think they may be trying to make everyone “equal” which isn’t fair for people who started earlier. Pretty soon, the face paint and rollerskates will probably come back… =[

Disney did not set out to purchase CP. In fact the three founders were activily seeking a partner. They were going to merge with Sony first and had other options as well. THEY CHOSE DISNEY!

As you can see, the 3 founders of CP are still running CP as they invisioned one day they would like too, given more of a financial base. Disney was only the answer to their visions. Disney isn’t changing CP…the three founders are.
actually ice cp didnt partner with disney, it wasnt a merge. cp bought club penguin cp is disney property it sucks that way.

But company buy-outs are not like going to the groceries that when you pay for the merchandise, the deal is done. I made a quick research and found that the “amount paid” is just the tip of the iceberg (excuse the pun ;-))
after signing on that little dotted line and accepting that first little check amounting to US$350M, there are a lot of work that could span 1-1.5 years depending on the arrangement. In that time, they fix the financial statement, rebump the organization, assign new bosses, not to mention their staff and other workers.
so the 9months from the actual acquisition is well within the buy-out phase.

Aguair.net. I think thats better. I like Club Penguin back when it wasn’t such a big company. I liked the old website better,the new Club Penguin website is Disney style now.
In my opinion,I think Club Penguin is just going downhill. Disney sucks,end of discussion.

Zipo - But think about it. NHI (New Horizon Interactive) weren’t bringing old items back before disney joined them, were they? So, even if it was just a partner up, NHI never were they way the are today.
Lady Maryann - Sorry, my mum called me for dinner when I was writing the comment. Also, here’s the thing. Did you ever stop to think Disney weren’t so smooth. There are dozens of CP pixel artists, artists, action script writers & idea men. They shouldn’t have to be in this big takeover, they should be doing there job. It’s just BillyBob, Rsnail & the others to be working on the Disney merge!

Hi Ag! Actually I did consider that. Lets make some parameters and scenarios first.
(1) Disney big; CP small. Well, not exactly small. CP has 700,000 paying members. So that means they have gross sales of US$4.165M max every month. Not exactly small but when compared to disney… Disney would just take BIG changes in easy strides, which i am not so sure of CP. I imagine $700M is quite overwhelming for a just-booming business like CP
(2) As Zipo7 has posted in comment #33, the 3 founders are still in place. BUT that does not mean that the rest below them like the creative and technical and admin teams would too. I would assume that disney would assign some of ITS people INSIDE CP, at least in the ADMIN team. The main reason for this being: protection of interest.
(3) Aside from actually running CP , which takes on the creative and technical teams already, they have to fix legal and financial and marketing aspects of everything. and perhaps a dozen more aspects i do not know
(4) The pressure is on CP coz the $700M deal is in installment. The second half ($350M) will be paid pending satisfaction of some conditions. I haven’t read any writeup that disclosed what they were but i think it is safe and logical to assume that one of them is to UP their sales and memberships to a certain level.
(5) CP was working on all of these NEW things at the SAME TIME (a) stage play room design (b) stage play costume (c) CPIP game (d) CPIP website (e) the CP website (f) Interactive newspaper (g) Interactive Books in the Bookroom (h) Missions. That’s not to mention the regular game, the regular catalogs (clothing, wig, sports, furniture, igloo) and newspaper and pin. AND the problem of BLOGS hotlinking to their SWF files i think some would call that BANDWIDTH STEALING
(6) CP is not at all perfect. Remember that “Penguin of the Month” mishap? (i wrote about this only blog) Or the Starfish Pin being released erroneously for a few hours last month? or the christmas scarf released a few days earlier and then taken back and then released again. AND not to mention like a gazillion glitches (well not gazillion but i would like to exaggerate the numbers hehehe)
(7) You can find CP in disney’s website and, likewise, you will find the disney name on CP’s new logo. THAT MEANS, disney is mighty proud to have acquired CP. Analyzing this, why would ANY company “brand” an acquisition they plan to shoot down? If i were disney, i dont want a FAILED PROJECT hanging under my belt.

CP Founders declined SONY”S offer only because Sony did not agree to CP’s policy on charity donations. CP DECLINED, NOT Sony withdrawing their offer. What’s the impact of this? that the CP Founders have spines! they are not pushovers and are not st*p*d.
Now, considering all of these scenarios, some sacrifices are bound to happen and one of them is the re-release of old items. i dont like it, you dont like. BUT I DO NOT THINK that shooting down CP is on disney’s agenda. i dont imagine Lane, Dave and Lance agreeing to that especially now that Lane is VP of WDIG (see comment #33)
Now, why would disney give Lane power to protect CP?

Yes Disney is trying to get rid of fame and hacking. IF anyone does remember Billybob said “We didn’t want to tell you this so you didn’t get the wrong idea but were going to give u a “reward” for helping CPIP.” I agree BIG TIME CP is destroying blogs and youtube channels just for the sake of not being famous. In my opinion Disney has sinken CP. Has the wrong newspaper every been released?NO! So, yes Disney has fallen it through.

However, some of which may be overkill and repetitive.

Yay aguair.net it is. Lol. But think about it, time and time again Club Penguin have said that every item in Club Penguin will come back (with the exclusion of the Anniversary Hats and Beta Hat). I think Club Penguin may now be starting to do what they said. I’m not too sure. Maybe their out of ideas…which is sad lol. But if after just two and a half years Club Penguin is going to bring back all the items again, then I’m guessing after another two or so years they will do it again, and I predict this cycle with continue and continue. If that is the case, oh well. Why do you play CP - to be famous on an online scale or to plainly have fun? That is the question we all must ask ourselves.

Disney rock. Disney hasnt changed ANYTHING! There only Helping them, the catelof they did was awesome. I went to Zsl London Zoo and the party there was ownage. Disney is cool, ever been to disneyland, no? well unlucky. It rocks. Dude, the three mods are changing club penguin, disney are just helping to get more views and get more languages into it. Aguair posed the key question. Each comment that evoked a response from someone else is also called food for thought. You may say everyone was debatiing or possibly in some cases giving a rebuttal. Hate is not an objective of either. Nothing personalizes a situation more than name calling.
